Detailed coin control, PSBT inspection and multisignature coordination.
Key control: Self-custody; can coordinate hardware signers
Record descriptors and signer details for multisig recovery, not only one seed.
16 Bitcoin wallets and signing tools, organized by their main use. Compare key control, platform and recovery responsibilities before trying one.
Detailed coin control, PSBT inspection and multisignature coordination.
Key control: Self-custody; can coordinate hardware signers
Record descriptors and signer details for multisig recovery, not only one seed.
A Bitcoin wallet with coin control, hardware-wallet integration and Lightning support.
Key control: Self-custody
Electrum seed and Lightning recovery procedures differ; follow its own documentation.
Mobile Bitcoin wallet with watch-only and multisignature workflows.
Key control: Self-custody on-chain; Lightning custody depends on backend
The former hosted Lightning service is not the same as self-custodial on-chain wallets. Check the backend you use.
A Lightning wallet with integrated channel management.
Key control: Self-custody with service dependencies
Read current availability, liquidity fees and recovery instructions; Lightning involves more than an on-chain seed backup.
A mobile Lightning wallet and interface to supported nodes.
Key control: Self-custody or remote-node control, depending on setup
Embedded-node recovery and remote-node credentials are different; document the mode you choose.
A Lightning wallet built around an embedded LND node.
Key control: Self-custody with an embedded node
Review channel backups, background-operation requirements and recovery before choosing a setup.
Personal Lightning infrastructure for connecting wallets and applications.
Key control: Self-custody; hosting and signer configuration matter
Track backups and app permissions separately from the hosting account.
A Bitcoin wallet focused on multisignature and signing workflows.
Key control: Self-custody coordination; optional services vary
Record the full wallet configuration and distinguish free wallet features from paid coordination services.
A wallet that makes alternative recovery spending paths explicit.
Key control: Self-custody with timelocked recovery paths
Recovery timing is part of the wallet policy; test it on Signet and preserve descriptors.
A Bitcoin Core-connected interface for hardware signers and multisig wallets.
Key control: Self-custody coordinator for signing devices
Back up the wallet configuration as well as each required signer; node availability is a separate dependency.
A signing device with published firmware and multiple connection workflows.
Key control: Self-custody; security model depends on unlock mode
Understand PIN-server versus alternative unlock modes. Developer firmware instructions are not the normal device update path.
Hardware wallets with public firmware and emulator tooling.
Key control: Self-custody
Device models and backup formats differ. Use the recovery guide for your exact model and configuration.
Hardware-wallet family with a Bitcoin-only edition and published firmware.
Key control: Self-custody
Confirm the edition and current platform support; keep the documented backup and recovery path available offline.
Foundation signing hardware with published Passport firmware.
Key control: Self-custody
This source entry concerns Passport firmware; Passport Prime uses a different platform. Match model, firmware and backup instructions.
A camera-based signing project for Bitcoin transactions.
Key control: Self-custody; stateless signing workflow
A stateless device does not replace a durable seed backup. Inspect recipient and change outputs in a test workflow.
Firmware for supported hardware used in QR-based offline signing.
Key control: Self-custody
The project says it has not been formally audited. Hardware compatibility and backup handling need separate review.

On-chain wallets construct and track Bitcoin transactions. Lightning wallets manage payments through channels or a connected service. Multisig coordinators combine several signing keys under a policy. Hardware signers approve transactions using keys held on a separate device. One product can fit more than one category; filters show its main use here.
Self-custody means you control the signing keys, but it does not remove software, service or backup dependencies. A Lightning setup may need channel-state recovery; a multisig wallet needs its configuration and enough signers. A device PIN is not a wallet backup.
Use each project’s official installation and verification instructions. Before relying on a setup, rehearse recovery with a separate test wallet. Never enter a seed phrase, private key or wallet password into Bitcoin CV; this directory has no wallet connection or recovery form.
Compare how two wallets explain a receive address, an unsigned transaction and an unavailable balance. Prototype improvements with fictional data and record the limitations. Our design portfolio guide and builder library offer next steps.
